Debate Competition

The Association of International Schools in Sri Lanka conducted a debate Competition at the Royal International College, Kegalle on Saturday 6th November 2016. Our Oxfordians, Sewmini, Sumesh, Naiha, Abhirami, Aysha and Nadha took part in this Competition. There were nine other International Schools who took part in this Competition.
At the Preliminary round the Oxfordians had to compete with Royal International School and were selected as the winners. In the second round they had to compete with Matale International and got through the same. In the quarterfinals they had to face the Asian Grammar School Gothatuwa. Here again the Oxfordians were selected as winners and in the final round our students had to face a great challenge with Ever Green International Geli Oya and they emerged finally as the Champions of the day.
These six Oxfordians brought Honor and Glory, not only to our College but also to the whole of Uva Province, because the people who live in leading cities normally possess an inferior feeling about Badulla thinking that it is less facilitated in every aspect. But this great achievement proves that there are students with incredible talents and abilities.
Our sincere thanks appreciation goes to our teachers M/s Nalini and Gayathrie who put in a marvellous effort to make everything a great success.
